The Ogun State House of Assembly has assured workers of the Olabisi Onabanjo Teaching Hospital (OOUTH), Sagamu, of government’s commitment towards ensuring the upgrade of health equipment and building of more infrastructure as provided for in the 2018 Appropriation Act.

The Speaker, Rt. Hon Suraju Ishola Adekunbi gave the assurance while playing host to the executive members of the National Association of Resident Doctors (NARD), OOUTH Branch, led by Dr. Osikoya Oludotun, during a courtesy visit to the Assembly.

Adekunbi who was represented by his Deputy, Olakunle Oluomo, explained that the present administration was irrevocably committed to evolving more development -oriented policies to further equip the health sector for the overall wellbeing of the citizenry.

He assured that the Senator Ibikunle Amosun led -administration was keen at putting in place enduring legacies in all sectors of the State economy, especially the health sector, soliciting for the support of well meaning Nigerians towards the advancement of the sector in the State.

Earlier in his remarks, Dr. Osikoya sought for the provision of more infrastructural facilities and human capacity development in the teaching hospital, which served as succour to accident victims on the major highways, as the institution rendered free Medicare to accident victims within 48 hours of occurrence.

Osikoya commended the present administration for upgrading infrastructure and providing equipment at the hospital, calling for more to enable professionals discharge their duties effectively.

In another development, the State House of Assembly also received the management team of the Federal Radio Cooperation of Nigeria, (Paramount FM) Abeokuta, led by the General Manager, Mr. Adeniyi Odekunle on a familiarization visit with an assurance that it would continue to partner media organisations for the promotion and sustenance of democratic tenets in the State.
